The Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Board is advising all students who have completed Year 12 last year or any year prior to 2019 and are exploring the option of pursuing Foundation Studies, that Foundation Studies will not be considered for the National Toppers Scholarship Scheme from 2021 onwards.

This will be applicable to both, the National Toppers Local Scholarships and the National Toppers Overseas Scholarships.

The Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Board says with term one of this academic year starting tomorrow, it is important that students make the right decision.

It says to be eligible for the National Toppers Scholarships from 2021 onwards, students must Complete Year 13 locally and must be ordinarily residents of Fiji for at least three years before the award commencement year.

It adds students who completed Year 12 in 2019 must continue with their studies by enrolling at one of the local high schools in Year 13 to be eligible to apply for the National Toppers Scholarship in 2021. However, students who still wish to pursue Foundation Studies will be eligible to apply for the Tertiary Education Loans Scheme to pursue their dream qualification.
