It was an emotional morning for Josevani Ramaraca of Bhawani Dayal Arya College after winning the senior boys Blue Ribbon event with a time of 10.93 seconds during the Coca-Cola Triple N Zone held at the HFC Bank Stadium.

The 18-year-old who is from Draubuta, Tokatoka in Tailevu told fijivillage News that he was encouraged by his father who is sick at home.

He says winning this event has encouraged him to work harder to try and win gold in the Coca-Cola Games.

Meanwhile, Domitila Naita of Adi Cakobau School won the girls 100 metres with a time of 12.47 seconds.

In the junior 100 metres, Jeremaia Nauca of Lelean Memorial School won gold with a time of 11.48 seconds, silver went to Kolinio Sukanaivalu of Noco Secondary with a time of 11.70 seconds, while Manasa Veileqe of Dilkusha High School settled for bronze with a time of 12.32 seconds.

In the junior girls, Esita Biukoto of ACS clocked 13.49 seconds to win gold, Alesi Nai came second with a time of 13.56 seconds while Litiana Marama of Muaniweni College came third with a time of 13.81 seconds.

Nakasi High School and Lelean Memorial School are currently leading the boy's medal tally with 6 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze each. Waidina Secondary School is in third place with 2 gold medals.

ACS is leading the girls division with 13 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze, Sila Central High School is in second place with 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze while Wainimala Secondary School is in third place with 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze.
