Children admitted at the CWM children’s ward got a surprise today when the President Jioji Konrote showed up with goody bags which was donated by ISS students.
International School Suva Primary Office Manager Lorna Evening-Rafoi says the reason for the visit was to give back to the community in a way not usually done everyday.
Evening-Rafoi says that they have been doing this for the last 10 years.
She says that the campaign started when she did some research, in which she found out that the children’s ward does not get decorated for Christmas, much less getting goody bags.
Evening-Rafoi says that in a way the hospital was her home as she was one of Fiji’s juvenile diabetics.
She says that her frequent visits to the hospital showed her that the children’s ward rarely gets decorated.
Evening-Rafoi adds that as long as she is employed by ISS, people can expect them to continue in the years to come.
Meanwhile the goody bags given out contained baby powder and oil, Fiji water, tissue’s, snacks and a stuffed toy.
