Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is attending the 10th Session of the World Urban Forum in Abu Dhabi intending to share a story of hope that cities can emerge as game-changers for climate action while also lifting people to a new and better opportunity.While delivering his statement at the opening of the forum, Bainimarama says Fiji is firmly committed to becoming carbon-neutral by 2050 because it knows that every percentage of emissions reduction matters.
He says no country, no city, no community’s contribution is too small.
Bainimarama has called on every nation, every city and every community to join Fiji in achieving net-zero by 2050.
The world forum was officially opened by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The forum brings together more than 18,000 registered participants and 580 speakers with 133 exhibitors from around the world.
