The Oceania Rugby 7s Championship 2023 is ready to kick off today in Brisbane with all teams from the 13 countries across the Pacific along with 1 Oceania team raring to go.
The tournament was officially launched Wednesday night, welcoming all the teams to the annual three-day tournament.
Former Flying Fijians players Mosese Rauluni, Koli Sewabu and Sale Sorovaki along with Fiji 7s maestro Waisale Serevi were seen attending the launching as well.
The first game of the Oceania 7s will kick off at 12pm today with Samoa Women’s 7s taking on Nauru Women’s 7s.
The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s will take on Cook Islands at 1.06pm, they will then play Tonga at 5.08pm, before playing American Samoa in their final pool game at 2.18pm Saturday. The Women’s cup semi final will kick off at 12.44pm Sunday and the cup final will be at 4.24pm Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Men’s 7s side will take on Niue at 2.56pm Friday before playing New Zealand at 7.42pm in their second pool game. They will then take on Oceania at 1.12pm Saturday and will wrap up their pool games against Australia at 4.52pm Saturday. The Men’s placing finals will kick off at 1.28pm Sunday with the final kicking off at 3.18pm Sunday.
