All eyes are on 2000 coup leader, George Speight and former head of the Counter Revolutionary Warfare Unit, Shane Stevens on whether they will be taking part in the government’s truth and reconciliation process.
Even Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka is hoping that people like Speight will reveal who was behind the 2000 coup.
Speight continues to spend time with his family after he was pardoned and released.
He had pleaded guilty to treason and was sentenced to death.
His death sentence was then commuted to life by the late former President, Ratu Josefa Iloilo.
Sepight spent more than 24 years in prison and was released on a Presidential pardon after an application to the Mercy Commission.
His family is yet to confirm when Speight will speak to the people of Fiji.
