The Fiji Bitter Marist 7s this year will have a new format.

Marist Rugby Club President and Chairman of the organising committee, Lawrence Tikaram says the tournament has performed its duties as a grassroot platform for sevens rugby for the past 45 years and they are changing that format to complement other local tournaments.

Tournament Director, Koli Korovulavula says they will introduce a ranking system and more details of the new format will be announced later.

Paradise Beverages Fiji General Manager Sales and Corporate Affairs, Joe Rodan Senior says sports plays an important part in the country's development and their continued sponsorship will help bring back normalcy in Fiji.

48 men’s teams, 8 women’s teams, and 16 Under 21 teams will be playing in the 45th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s from the 25th to 27th of March at the ANZ Stadium.
