Fijian Drua Interim CEO Brian Thorburn says the inclusion of Olympic gold medallist and former Fiji 7s captain Kalione Nasoko in the Fijian Drua side will bring stability in the centre position.
Nasoko is one of the six players that recently signed their contract for the Drua side.
Thorburn says Nasoko will bring his renowned line-break and offloading abilities as a centre to the Drua side.
He says his story is one of determination and sacrifice.
He adds the 30-year-old was playing a starring role for the Fiji 7s team until an ACL injury in 2019 that sidelined him for much of the year, however, he worked hard on his rehabilitation, recovery, and fitness to force his way back into the gold-medal winning team.
Thorburn says Nasoko required surgery, six weeks rest for recovery and even needed crutches to move around.
16 players have now been announced and a further 21 are expected to be unveiled by the end of next week.
Some of the players which have already been confirmed are Flying Fijians halfback Serupepeli Vularika, lock Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta, winger Onisi Ratave, loose forward Nemani Nagusa and rising star halfback Simione Kuruvoli.
Super Rugby Pacific will kick off on 18th February next year.
