The National Rugby League (NRL) will acknowledge 18 retiring players ahead of the 2024 Grand Final match between the Melbourne Storm and the Penrith Panthers tonight.
The list of players who will attend the Grand Final Day to be acknowledged includes 300-game players, Premiership winners and Test superstars.
The players who will be acknowledged are Jesse Bromwich, Edrick Lee (Dolphins), Dale Finucane, Wade Graham (Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks), Shaun Johnson (New Zealand Warriors), Nathan Peats, Karina Brown (Gold Coast Titans), Kevin Naiqama, Zane Tetevano, Dylan Napa (Sydney Roosters), Dean Whare, Tyrone Peachey (Penrith Panthers), Chris McQueen (South Sydney Rabbitohs), Ava Seumanufagai (West Tigers), Hymel Hunt (Newcastle Knights), Tautau Moga (St George Illawarra Dragons), Aaron Woods and Brad Parker (Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles).
NRL CEO Andrew Abdo says the Grand Final Day is a massive day for the Rugby League and an important opportunity to recognise and celebrate the careers of players retiring from the game.
He says the retiring players' tribute is one of the great traditions of Grand Final Day, acknowledging the unique contribution that each player and their families have made over many years.
The Panthers will meet the Storm at 8.30 tonight in Sydney.
