Youths of Naitasiri will now have more opportunities to secure a job in the timber industry after 50 youths participated in a portable sawmill and chainsaw operation training organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The Ministry is committed to improving the lives of individuals across the nation.
The Divisional Manager Central, Etuate Bari, says the skills the youths have gained will benefit individuals by securing job opportunities for themselves.
He also expressed his optimism about the potential employment prospects for the trained youth. Bari says it is impressive that the training also attracted female participants who actively participated alongside their male counterparts.
He says gender should never be a barrier when it comes to pursuing one's passion and improving their life. The youth participants were from four youth clubs, including Sawanikula Youth Club, Botenaulu Youth Club, Nabukanivatu Youth Club, and Naqara Brothers Youth Club.
