Six Year 13 students from Moce Secondary School received provisional offer letters from Fiji National University (FNU) during the Careers Expo held at their school in the Lau Group.
One of the students who attended the expo was Savenaca Waqabaca, who went with his father to explore the programs offered at FNU.
Despite being visually impaired, Savenaca actively sought advice about his educational options.
Savenaca says FNU answered his questions when he inquired about taking computer studies after receiving advice and consultation, he changed his mind.
He plans to enroll in Music and Physical Education next year at FNU.
The expo, organized by the Ministry of Education, provided an opportunity for all students to engage with university representatives and other stakeholders, gaining insight into various academic pathways.
Moce Secondary School teacher Roko Dreu thanked FNU for participating in the expo for the first time.
Dreu says it has enlightened their students, who are excited about what they learned at the expo, giving them a clearer understanding of what the university offers.
With these offers, he added, the students are now on the path toward pursuing their academic goals and aspirations at FNU.
