Fiji Airways Men’s 7s forward Ponipate Loganimasi is putting in the hard yards as he tries to secure a spot for the Olympics Games in Paris, France, next month and says the bond and comradeship in camp is high.
Loganimasi says it's been a mix of emotions for him because the mood in the camp at the moment is set for battle, and the boys are physically fit as the countdown begins to defend their gold medal.
He praised the coaches for bringing the boys together in a short time and is optimistic if they do their best, the Lord will do the rest.
Loganimasi echoed the sentiments of coach, Osea Kolinisau, who kept reminding them to do the little things right off the field and things would fall into place on the field.
The robust forward is known for his speed and will be an asset for the Fiji side in the Olympic Games.
Loganimasi says ball retention is key for them heading into the Olympics because without possession they will not win games.
Fiji is in a tough pool in Paris as they are pooled with hosts France, USA, and Uruguay.
The Olympic 7s will be from the 25th to the 31st of July.
