Isaiah Walker-Leawere the current lock forward for the Hurricanes team and the son of former Flying Fijian Kele Leawere is imposing his authority in all aspects of the game during the Shop N Super Rugby Pacific Competition this season.
Leawere is largely responsible for coordinating the lineouts, statistically the fourth-best in the competition despite having to use six different hookers in 2024.
He says the Chiefs will be physical, motivated, and quick to punish errors in this week's semi-final clash.
Statistics show that Leawere has played more minutes for the Super Rugby Pacific leaders than any other forward, and the 27-year-old made 133 of his 150 tackle attempts during the regular season and played 13 out of a possible 14 games.
The Hurricanes and the Chiefs have met on 45 occasions previously where the Hurricanes have won 23 matches to the Chiefs 20, with two drawn matches.
The Hurricanes will host the Chiefs at 4.35pm tomorrow in the second semi-final.
In the first semi-final, the Blues will take on the Brumbies at 7.05 tonight at Eden Park in Auckland.
