Fiji Water Flying Fijians head coach Simon Raiwalui has confirmed that halfback Simione Kuruvoli is not new to kicking duties as he has done it before when he was in the Fiji under 20s and the Fiji Warriors team back in 2020.
Raiwalui says he has just not been regular with kicking so he has been working with the kicking coaches on his techniques.
He says all the kickers in the team have been working hard to get consistency and Kuruvoli was outstanding in yesterday’s win.
Meanwhile, when asked if he has ever kicked that many kicks at goal in a match and get a 100 percent rate, Kuruvoli says he has never achieved that before.
He says he was surprised with some of his kicks because he normally just focuses on doing halfback duties and doesn't have the kicking bit.
Kuruvoli says the extras that have been going on after training, especially the kicking training paid off in the game yesterday.

Coach Raiwalui says they will be monitoring Kuruvoli as well after he suffered a cramp during the game that led to his exodus from the match early in the second spell.
The Flying Fijians will take on Georgia at 3.45am on the 1st of October in their third RWC pool clash. You can check out all the Rugby World Cup stories, interviews, photos, videos and schedules on our website, fijivillage.
