Hurricanes utility Jordie Barrett is in doubt for the match against the Blues and elder brother, Beauden in the Super Rugby Aotearoa competition on Sunday.
NZME reports Barrett would be sidelined for three weeks with a shoulder injury and that surgery was a possibility.
Hurricanes General Manager Ben Castle said in a statement that the 23-year-old has taken a knock and will not participate in training and they will be monitoring him and see how he progresses through the week.

Castle adds the team has not been named yet and it will be out on Friday.
The All Blacks utility player was one of the Hurricanes’ best in the early rounds of Super Rugby and capped a fine all-round match by kicking the winning penalty against the Chiefs before the COVID-19 shut down in March.
The Hurricanes will take on the Blues at 3.35pm Sunday while the Chiefs will play the Highlanders at 7.05pm Saturday.
