He has won an Olympic Gold medal, he is Fiji’s all-time leading try scorer in the HSBC 7s series and has also been crowned the World 7s Player of the Year and now Jerry Tuwai is encouraging Fijians to get vaccinated.
Tuwai who will captain the Fiji Men’s Team to the Olympics is fully vaccinated after getting his second jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine in Australia last month.
Tuwai and Fijiana 7s team captain Rusila Nagasau will be Team Fiji’s flag bearers at the Tokyo Olympics.
The Tuwai led Fiji 7s side has two matches on the opening day of the 7s competition.
They will play Japan on the 26th of this month at 12pm before taking on Canada at 8pm.
Fiji will then play Great Britain at 12.30pm on the next day.
The top two teams in each pool, plus the two third-placed teams with the highest points total will qualify for the quarterfinals.
The quarterfinals will kick off on the 28th of this month.
