Itaukei Affairs will continue to ensure the well‑ being of iTaukei communities. - Adimaitoga

The Assistant Minister for Itaukei Affairs Selai Adimaitoga has reminded the Lau Provincial Council members that the Ministry and iTaukei Affairs Board will continue to promote and uphold good governance principles at the Vanua, Tikina and Provincial Council levels.

While opening the provincial council meeting Adimaitoga says they will also continue to ensure the well‑ being of iTaukei communities.

Adimaitoga says the Ministry will also continue with the conservation of natural resources and building community resilience to the effects of climate change and disaster and strengthen the vanua and empower traditional leaders.

She also deliberated on the iTaukei Affairs pillars which are Good Governance, Wellbeing, Economic Empowerment, Conservation, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management and Vanua and Traditional Leadership.

Minister Adimaitoga highlighted government's national development plan and encourages proper planning and more dialogue and consultations between District representatives and Turaga ni Koro in an effort to ensure that no one is left behind aligning with Government's vision of 'A Better Fiji for All.

A traditional welcoming ceremony was also accorded to the Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs.
