Five All Blacks have joined Brodie Retallick on the sideline with injuries for this weekend's Test against Tonga but should all be available for their Rugby World Cup opener against the Springboks.
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen confirmed today after the line‑up was announced that Sonny Bill Williams, Jack Goodhue, Rieko Ioane, Richie Mo'unga and Sam Cane are all nursing niggles.
While Mo'unga's was well‑documented after he hurt his shoulder in last month's Bledisloe win over the Wallabies, the surprise was Ioane, who Hansen said has a leg issue.
Sevu Reece has been named on the wing in the All Blacks team to play Tonga at 2.35pm this Saturday.
