Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s fly-half Merewalesi Rokouono says the girls are ready to play against the Queensland Reds in their first match of the 2024 Super Rugby Women's competition this Sunday.
Rokouono says she trusts the girls that they will perform well in their first match.
She says even though they have been training for the past six weeks, the girls are talented and have discipline on and off the field, and she believes that they will come out victorious.
The 30-year-old is originally from Nabena in Naitasiri and has maternal links to Logani Village in Bau, Tailevu.
She went to Sabeto Primary School and then moved to Jasper Williams High School for two years before completing her secondary education at Sabeto College.
She further says she started playing soccer in 2015 before joining the Leilani Bird Club in Nadi and got selected to play for the Fijiana 7sm and then moved to 15s.
The Drua Women will take on the Reds in their first match of the 2024 Super Rugby Women's season at 3.35pm this Sunday in Ballymore, Brisbane.
