French star halfback Antoine Dupont is expected to make his international sevens debut after being named in France’s squad for the HSBC Vancouver SVNS next week.
This will be the long-awaited debut for the 27-year-old as he looks to make the squad for the Paris Olympics later this year.
The former France 15s captain has put his international 15s career on ice and is currently taking no part in the Guinness Six Nations campaign in his pursuit of playing 7s.
The inclusion of Dupont will be a major boost for the French 7s side as they hope for an improvement in their placing in the overall men’s points table where they are currently sitting at 7th place.
Meanwhile, after three legs so far in the SVNS series, Argentina leads the points table with 58 points, Fiji is in second place with 44 points and is tied with Australia who are in 3rd place.
The Vancouver 7s will be held from next Friday to Sunday.
