Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says as the world grapples with the most severe health crisis of the century, Fijian hearts ache with a new closeness as they watch Australians and New Zealanders contend with new outbreaks of COVID-19.
Seven new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the community in New Zealand yesterday.
The number of active cases in New Zealand is 56, of which 37 are from the community outbreak and 19 are imported cases in quarantine.
Bainimarama says his prayers and the prayers of all Fijians, are with our Australian and New Zealand sisters and brothers as they face this challenging chapter.
He says may we find strength in solidarity, and solace in science, as we look ahead.
