Procuring cabinets to store files and documents will be a thing of the past for the Fiji Nursing Council after their new website was launched by the Health Ministry's Chief Medical Advisor, Dr Jemesa Tudravu.
Speaking at the launch, Dr Tudravu says data and information are becoming more and more valuable and critical for the proper and effective functioning and survival of an organisation.
He says record keeping has continued to evolve to safeguard information and data that organisations consider essential and crucial for their purpose and objectives.
He adds the transition to digital record keeping continues to be driven forward by the need for increased accessibility to storage and results in a lower cost to store information.
The Chief Medical Advisor says going digital will also result in easier information retrieval and protection against frivolous claims, allow easier collaboration and reduce costs related to document distribution.
He hopes the transition will herald in efficiency and timely provision of services to its members.
