Crusaders fullback Chay Fihaki has been called into the All Blacks squad as injury cover for this weekend’s last round of the Rugby Championship against the Wallabies in Wellington.
The 23-year-old made his Super Rugby Pacific debut at the age of 21 under the guidance of current All Blacks coach Scott Robertson who was the Crusaders coach back then.
Fihaki has links to Fiji and will be looking to make his international debut this week under the same coach that gave him his big break in Super Rugby Pacific in 2022.
Fihaki comes in to replace Jordie Barrett who injured the medial collateral ligament in his knee in last weekend’s 31-28 win over the Wallabies in Sydney.
The All Blacks will take on the Wallabies at 7.05pm this Saturday at the Sky Sports Stadium in Wellington.
Meanwhile, South Africa will take on Argentina at 3am this Sunday in the game that is dubbed the decider of the Rugby Championship.
