The Dutta siblings will be flying the Fijian flag high at the Hockey 5s World Cup in Oman.
Leevan Dutta who has played 39 International Test Matches for Fiji will be representing the Men’s team while sister Tiara will be representing the Women’s team.
Leevan has described his training routine as nothing short of a struggle.
He says athletes should be following the advice of the physiotherapists and the strength and conditioning coaches.
He adds his journey is bolstered by the unwavering support of family, friends, and his employer, who stand by him, enabling him to chase his passion.
Leevan echoes the advice of Coach Hector Smith Snr and that is to stay disciplined, remain humble, play with passion and confidence, and never stop learning.
He adds while securing their place during the World Cup Qualifiers, the Solomon Islands Captain had told them that they are now representing the entire Pacific and not just Fiji.
Leevan hopes that with both the Men's and Women's National teams qualifying for the World Cup this would help further elevate the sport's status in the country.
