The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua are looking forward to an epic match this afternoon when they take on the Melbourne Rebels in their final pre-season game in Melbourne.
The Drua have named a strong lineup and will be looking to improve from their last pre-season match against the Brumbies two weeks ago.
Drua captain Ratu Meli Derenalagi had earlier said that they would want to improve on the areas that they lacked against the Brumbies for this game before the start of the season.
The Rebels on the other hand will want to end their pre-season on a high after facing a few setbacks earlier this week with the resignation of their CEO and also a few hiccups on their financial status.
They will be led by mobile backrower Rob Leota.
They will also have the services of Fiji-born former Wallabies winger Filipo Daugunu and Melbourne-based backrower Maciu Nabolakasi.
The Drua will play the Rebels at 5.30pm today at Gosch's Paddock, Melbourne.
In other pre-season games today, the Hurricanes will play Moana Pasifika will play at 1.30pm, the Crusaders take on the Highlanders at 3pm and the Blues take on the Chiefs at 3pm. The Drua’s first match of the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season will be against the Blues at 3.35pm next Saturday in Auckland.
