The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will be banking on the vocal support from the fans and Fijians in Christchurch to help boost the morale of the players this weekend when they take on the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific champions the Crusaders.
Coach Mick Byrne says the fans will also play a huge factor in the team’s performance as they look to overcome the Crusaders on their home turf and also create another piece of history by qualifying for the semi finals.
He has urged all supporters to turn up to game day in sky blue colors to show their support for the Drua side.
He says the main focus for the team now is to turn up on Saturday and deliver a physical game and make sure they execute their game plan well especially in their set pieces.
When asked if the cold weather in Christchurch will in any way affect the players’ performance, Byrne says there won’t be any problem with the weather for the boys as they will be comfortable once they start running.
The Fijian Drua will take on the Crusaders at 7.05pm Saturday.
In other quarter finals, the Blues will host the Waratahs at 7.35pm Friday, the Chiefs will take on the Reds at 4.35pm Saturday and the Brumbies will play the Hurricanes at 9.35pm Saturday.
