Newly inducted Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s player, Rubeni Kabu is keen on taking the world stage at this week’s HSBC SVNS Hong Kong 7s as he always dreamt playing alongside national 7s reps.
Kabu who hails from Naila in Tailevu says he grew up watching players like Josua Vakurunabili and Sevuloni Mocenacagi and to rub shoulders with these players and be in the same team is a dream come true for him.
Speaking in the iTaukei language, Kabu says he will give his best if chosen to play in this week's tournament to help Fiji secure the win.
The men’s team will open their Hong Kong 7s campaign against Australia at 9.30pm Friday, they will then take on Canada at 12.33am Saturday and play France at 5.43pm Saturday in their final pool match.
The Fijiana 7s side will begin their campaign against Australia at 4.25pm Friday, they will then take on South Africa at 7.12pm Friday, and they will play Ireland at 3.02pm Saturday.
The Hong Kong 7s will be held from Friday to Sunday. The Paris Olympics Rugby 7s competition will be held from the 24th to the 30th of July.
