The Boston Celtics have clinched game 1 of the NBA Finals after beating the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 this afternoon.
Celtics forward Jaylen Brown scored 22 points to help his side get off to a good start in the finals.
Brown made 6 rebounds and 2 assists in 37 minutes.
It was a game of two halves as the Celtics claimed the first two quarters 37-20 and 26-22 respectively.
The Mavericks came back and took out the last two quarters 24-23 and 23-21.
Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic scored 30 points in 38 minutes and made 10 rebounds with 1 assist but was not enough to help his team beat the Celtics.
Celtics now lead the Finals series 1-0 with game two to be played at 12pm next Monday.
