Communications Fiji Ltd, the parent company of LegendFM, FM96, VitiFM, Navtarang, Radio Sargam and fijivillage has completed it's $1 million transmission expansion program.
CFL General Manager Charles Taylor says this included the installation of new sites at Dogowale in Serua, Benau near Labasa and an upgrade of CFL’s Tuidreke site in Ra.
Taylor says this increases the total number of CFL transmission sites to 10.
He says the Dogowale site boosts the signal of CFL's radio stations in Serua and the Coral Coast.
Taylor says this also means that drivers on the Queens Highway will have uninterrupted access to our stations.
He says at Benau, they are directing signals into Labasa Town and the Waiqele area, improving coverage in these important listening areas.
Taylor says transmission from the Tuidreke site in Ra has doubled in power, this will strengthen coverage of Southern Vanua Levu, Nabouwalu and also Northeast Viti Levu.
He says they are currently surveying the new coverage areas and are hopeful that they have filled previous transmission gaps.
The General Manager says their goal is to be able to deliver unmatched coverage of major population areas in Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and surrounding maritime regions.
He says Communications Fiji Ltd self-funded the project and are very proud of the fact that they are the only broadcast organisation in the country that owns and manages their own transmission facilities.
Taylor adds they believe this is critical in maintaining our independence and quality and reliability of our transmission network.
