Some residents of Bureta Street in Samabula are raising serious concerns after a Dee Cee's bus went down Bureta Street and ended up on the footpath and front driveway of a house.

The residents say this incident could have easily taken lives or injured the pedestrians if someone would have been walking on the footpath or the private driveway.

When contacted, Operations Manager, Temo Chand says their driver had applied the wrong gear while trying to reverse the bus into Levuka Street which resulted in the bus rolling down Bureta Street.

Chand says the bus is new and does not have any mechanical issues however they will do further checks.

He says they will take the driver to task and take action to keep their passengers and pedestrians safe on the roads.
