George Bower who has links to Fiji, is now an All Blacks squad member for real this time, unlike a couple of years ago when he was paid $150 to act like one.
That was when the Crusaders prop was playing club rugby for Dunedin club Harbour and the All Blacks put a call out for some extra bodies for a jersey shoot.
Bower figured the extra money would help pay his rent.
Getting tackled by then captain Kieran Read, and taking part in passing drills with midfielders Sonny Bill Williams and Ryan Crotty, was easy coin.
Bower told Stuff.co that their faces were not in the shots, it was more just their bodies adding he was buzzing out, how he was doing a bit of promo with the boys and now he is selected in the active squad.
Bower also made a name for himself as a self-taught barber and some of his clients included then All Blacks Vaea Fifita and Nehe Milner-Skudder, and Wallaby Tevita Kuridrani, who dropped by his kitchen for a trim in 2017, when in Dunedin for a Bledisloe Cup match.
The All Blacks meet the Wallabies at 8.45pm next Saturday at Sydney's ANZ Stadium.
