Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has confirmed that the nurse who tested positive for COVID-19 has made a full recovery and is now at home.

Bainimarama confirmed this at the unveiling of the new Fiji 50 Jubilee feature at the Queen Elizabeth Drive in Nasese.

The monument is dedicated to all frontline border control workers who worked tirelessly to protect fellow Fijians during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bainimarama says these Fijians are the heroes we all needed to weather this difficult year.

He says when future generations read the monument even 50 years from now, they will remember the great lengths Fijians went for each other.

He says the new monument will become one of many throughout Suva's heritage walk which will also tell the City's story.

Bainimarama adds no virus or once in a century crisis could temper the love we share for our nation, our home and one another.
