Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Rosy Akbar has acknowledged the staff of the Ministry who have helped people overcome stigma and adversities to achieve a better quality of life.

While speaking at the Fiji Day celebration at the Ministry, Akbar says Fiji Day is a day of reflection and a day to look back and see all that has been achieved during Fiji’s independence and in this COVID-19 pandemic.

She says those who have devoted themselves to building a better and safer future for Fijians, leaders and elders, as well as our families and communities are responsible for where we are today.

Akbar says they will continue to provide services that give people better access to the resources they need and deserve and adds they have also been considered 'essential workers' throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

She says the Ministry have done their best for the people of Fiji during this COVID pandemic operations.
