An abandoned house in Waimanu road was destroyed in a fire early this morning.
Firefighters acted quickly to prevent the fire from spreading to the Studio 6 Apartments which is situated just next to the house.
Our reporter who was at the scene says the fire started at around 1am today.
Police and National Fire Authority investigations are expected to start soon.
