70 students will now benefit from the new storage facility, refurbished sensory room, during the launch of the centralised data hub and the training center with 20 computers at the National Council for Persons with Disabilities.
These projects were under taken so that students with disability have easy and better facilities to enhance the learning environment.
Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Social Protection, Eseta Nadakuitavuki says these projects were made possible through the Australian Government’s Vuvale Partnership with the Government of Fiji worth more than $700,000.
Nadakuitavuki says the government is committed to set the platform for disability interventions and participation in all areas, whether it is to promote the equality and non-discrimination of persons with disabilities, improving accessibility for all impairments or providing support services.
The Permanent Secretary says the Australian Government has also donated furniture and office equipment for the classrooms and the storage facility.
She adds this is more than just a building it's a cornerstone of the commitment to inclusivity, resilience and empowerment for persons with disabilities.
