The Skipper Cup Competition and the semifinals for the Vodafone Vanua Championship will be held this week.

The Fiji Rugby Union has confirmed that the matches scheduled for Friday and Saturday last week have been moved to this weekend and will be played on Friday and Saturday.

Fiji Rugby CEO John O’Connor says one reason why they re-scheduled the matches last week is due to the current prolonged wet weather experienced throughout the country and taking into consideration the present soggy ground conditions.

He says they had also sought guidance from the Fiji Meteorological Service who confirmed that the current wet weather conditions will prevail on Sunday.

O'Connor says they are working with the venue owners to rebook the venues for this week’s matches and the unions will be advised of the venues for the deferred rounds in the next few days.

In the semifinal of the Vodafone Vanua Championship, Ba will meet Northland while Nanukuloa will face Rewa.

This week in the Skipper Cup, Nadroga will host Nadi, Lautoka will face Namosi, Naitasiri will play Suva while Tailevu will take on Yasawa.
