44 children from the St. Christopher’s, Dilkusha and Pearly Gates Home were treated to a special afternoon as they saw the Vou Fijian Flying Circus yesterday.
The Ministry for Women, Children and Social Protection says Minister Lynda Tabuya treated the children to an unforgettable afternoon of fun and laughter.
They say accompanied by their dedicated carers, Tabuya joined the 44 children who were blown away by the brilliant performance of the Vou dance and song troupe, quite apart from 20 of her nieces and nephews.
The Ministry says the event provided a welcome change from the children's weekend program, offering them a chance to experience joy and excitement in a new setting.
They say the children and their carers were so happy for the opportunity to attend the circus, they sang in their transport all the way home, highlighting how much the children enjoyed the outing and the positive impact it had on their spirits.
Tabuya herself was blown away by the show, branding it as the best homegrown show to date.
She says she has seen many circus shows worldwide but this show was different because of its Fijian-ness, and the performers took the humour and the Bula spirit to another level.
The Ministry says Tabuya’s commitment to supporting and uplifting children under State care was evident throughout the event, as she actively engaged with the children and shared in their moments of joy.
They add the Minister's presence at the Vou Fijian Flying Circus was a testament to her dedication to promoting the well-being and happiness of all children especially those under State protection.
