Police have confirmed that the victim of the fatal accident this morning has been identified by relatives.
Police say the victim is in her 20s residing at Narere and is originally from Rabi Island.
She was working at a major supermarket outlet in Laucala Beach.
A post mortem will be conducted soon.
The 54-year-old man remains in custody.
The woman was a passenger in a vehicle that was driven by the suspect who is a Radio announcer.
It is alleged that the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to veer off the road at Gardner Place.
The driver and the victim were rescued from the vehicle which was partially submerged in water.
Police say that the victim was rushed to the CWM Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
