As we enter the final day of competition of the 2016 Coca Cola Games, Marist Brothers High School is leading the boys division and Jasper Williams High School is leading the girls division.
Marist leads the medal tally with 9 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze.
Defending boys champion, Natabua is in second place.
They have 8 gold, 8 silver and 2 bronze.
QVS and Suva Grammar are in third place with 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze each.
Jasper leads the girl's division with 7 gold, 10 silver and 3 bronze, ACS is in second place with 5 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze and Suva Grammar is in third place with 3 gold and 1 bronze.
Napuka Secondary is next with 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.
Looking at the 3,000 metres finals in the last hour,
Ballantine Memorial School’s Meki Maria took out the gold medal in the 3,000 metres girls open event.
Jasper’s Mereseini Naidau took the silver medal while Litia Tuinuve of Ratu Luke Memorial from Bua took bronze.
Amevasu Turner of Ratu Luke Memorial won gold in the Open Boys 3,000 metres final, Sairusi Kalouniviti of Immaculate Conception College from Bua took the silver medal while Viliame Salusalu will take home the bronze medal.
In the 100 metres final last night:
Ilaitia Waqa of Queen Victoria School won the Senior Boys Blue Ribbon event at the 2016 Coca-Cola Games.
Waqa ran 11.06 seconds in the final.
Speaking to Fijivillage last night, Waqa said that he was confident that he would win as he finishes strong in the last 50 meters.
He also said that winning this gold medal will put smiles on QVS students who were affected by Tropics Cyclone Winston.
Alaiwalu Rayawa of ACS won the Senior Girls Blue Ribbon final.
Rayawa dedicated her gold medal to her parents.
The Intermediate Boys 100 metres final was won by top favourite Keasi Naidroka of Marist while Alesi Finau of Jasper won the 100 metres Intermediate Girls final.
Junior girls 100 metres favourite, Heleina Young was disqualified in the final for an early start and Salote Baravilala of Jasper won gold.
Waisale Nakavu of Marist created an upset and won the 100 metres Junior Boys final.
He beat Natabua favourite, Tyrone Chambers.
Carol Masi of Jasper won the Sub-Junior girls 100 metres final.
The Sub-Junior boys 100 metres final was won by Lasarusa Senibale of Marist.
400 metres
Julian Vuetibau of Natabua High School won the Senior Boys 400 metres final at the 2016 Coca-Cola Games.
Jasper claimed another gold through Meresiana Vukici who won the Senior girls 400 metres final.
Elenani Tinai of ACS won the Intermediate girls 400 metres final while Shane Tuvusa won another gold for Marist in the Intermediate boys 400 metres.
Queen Victoria School won a gold in the Junior boys 400 metres final through Osea Baleinamau.
Serenia Ragatu won gold in the junior girls 400 metres for ACS.
The Sub Junior girls 400 metres was won by Ana Kaitoga of Suva Grammar School while the Sub Junior boys 400 metres was won by Karalo Dalikula of RKS.
Six records were broken yesterday.
The 4x100 metres relay heats are currently underway.
The 800 metres finals will be held at about 10.40 this morning, the 200 metres finals will be held at about 11.40am, the 4x100 metres finals will start at 12.40pm while the 4x400 metres finals start at about 2pm today.
