The Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces has challenged his officers to understand their role in the force.
RFMF Commander, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto was accorded a full Itaukei traditional welcome ceremony yesterday and he told his officers that they should ask themselves if they are fit for the job and also how can they fit into the job.
He says the RFMF’s role is stated in the constitution and everyone should work together to move Fiji forward.
Naupoto has also told people that the RFMF needs to know their responsibilities during the changing environment of peacekeeping operations.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, cabinet ministers and Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho also attended the ceremony.
