Police to visit schools to try to curb school brawls

Following reports of school brawls involving students after athletics meets senior police officers will be visiting schools throughout the week as a proactive measure ahead of the 2015 Coca-Cola Games next week.

Chief Operations Officer ACP, Rusiate Tudravu said they have received information about students’ involvement in fights following the Zone athletics meets.

He added they have received information about certain students who are issuing a form of challenge to fight students of other schools following the Zone meets and this has to stop.

ACP Tudravu said the Fiji Police is serious about preventing such incidents and they will be taking a strong stand against those involved.

Tudravu also said students must know that their education could be seriously affected if they are caught committing a crime.

He also called on school heads to assist Police in stressing the need for good sportsmanship to prevail.
