Assistant Commissioner of Police Henry Brown has tendered his resignation.
Acting Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho has confirmed that he received an email from Brown yesterday.
Qiliho says ACP Brown claimed that he tendered his resignation under duress.
He says this is an allegation ACP Brown must prove.
He says ACP Brown in his resignation letter has raised a few issues, which he claims was denying him of justice.
Qiliho says ACP Brown is also away overseas and had personally requested to extend his leave.
He says ACP Brown was expected to resume duty yesterday.
Qiliho also says that ACP Brown raised concerns on the issue of junior officers investigating senior officers.
He says the decision to lay any charges will be made from the Office of DPP after the investigation is completed and if the file is submitted to FICAC then the decision will be up to the Deputy Commissioner of FICAC.
Qiliho reiterated that Brown's case will not be closed.
Brown is yet to comment.
