The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team defeated France 31-10 in their second pool match of the London 7s and has qualified to play in a Cup quarterfinal match.
The win has also secured Fiji an automatic qualification to defend their title at the 2020 Olympic Games.

Fiji dominated the whole match with strong defence and attacking skills.
Meli Derenalagi started the scoring for Fiji as the national side took a 7‑0 lead.
Waisea Nacuqu got Fiji’s second try as Fiji led 14‑0 before France produced some magic of their own as a brilliant off‑load saw France scoring their first try in the match.
Fiji led 14-5 at halftime.
France scored their second try as they closed the gap 14-10 however, Alasio Naduva made an impressive run where he scored another try for Fiji and extend their lead.
Jerry Tuwai showed his trademark stepping skills as he crossed the try line and scored Fiji’s fourth try.
Livai Ikanikoda sealed the win for Fiji with a final try.

Fiji will now take on Samoa at 3.48am today.
The Cup quarterfinals will start at 9.58pm today, Cup semifinals will start at 1.48am Monday and the Cup final will be played at 4.57am Monday.
Barring any upsets, the Fiji is likely to meet England or Scotland in the quarter final, they are likely to take on USA or Argentina in the semifinal, or New Zealand or South Africa in the final.
