The much anticipated Fiji heavyweight title boxing clash between holder Petero Qica Jr and Napoleon Taumoepeau in the Wild West Boxing Promotions program at Prince Charles Park was cancelled one hour prior to the fight.
Fijivillage had managed to speak to both fighters after what happened.
Speaking from Nadi, Qica admitted that he pulled a hamstring while going through his final warm up training at the Fiji Military Forces base in Namaka.
He says that he does not want to take the risk and prefers a fair fight with full fitness.
Qica is willing to fight Taumoepeau in April next year.
Meanwhile Taumoepeau says he was frustrated with the way Qica responded and says he does not deserve to be called Fiji's Heavyweight Champion.
Taumoepeau also apologies to his fans who turned up at Prince Charles Park to witness the fight.
There was a lot of hype about this fight after the weigh‑in at the Curry House Restaurant in Nadi Town on Friday.
About 2,500 people turned up to witness the fight and are demanding for a refund as they paid $25 for the ringside and $15 for the Pavilion.
Qica Jr defeated Mosese Kavika in 2011 to win the Fiji heavyweight title while Taumoepeau beat Sefanaia Vakacegu via knockout in September this year.
