Singapore here we come.
Fresh from the excitement and victory at the Hong Kong 7s last week, the Vodafone Fiji 7s team made a special appearance at Singapore Changi Airport earlier today, ahead of the Singapore leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series this weekend.
Led by Coach Ben Ryan and Captain Osea Kolinisau, the team met lucky passengers and rugby fans at the transit area as part of a special meet‑and‑greet event organised by Changi Airport Group and Fiji Airways.
People also witnessed the Cibi, performed by the Fijian team.
In conjunction with Singapore’s hosting of the HSBC Rugby Sevens Series, there is a month‑long Changi Rugby Sevens exhibition which runs from the 4th to the 29th of this month.
Fiji Airways’ Executive General Manager Corporate Shaenaz Voss said this is a brilliant initiative by Changi Airport, which will definitely boost awareness of Rugby Sevens, Fiji Airways and Fiji.
Meanwhile Ben Ryan told our reporter in Singapore, Rusiate Baleilevuka that they are aiming for back-to-back wins after last weekend’s Hong Kong 7s.
Ryan said they have to look at their own performance to ensure that they win in Singapore.
Fiji 7s hitman Jasa Veremalua said they are ready for the task this weekend, and the new players coming in will boost the team’s chances.
