Thousands of Christians attended Church services throughout the country with the simple message, to celebrate life and God’s victory over sin.

These were the words of the Methodist Church in Fiji Reverend Eroni Moce saying Easter bears witness to the grace and unconditional love of God.

Moce says its practical that every person share the love of Christ and not looking to your own interests but each person to the interests of others in your relationships with one another, have the same mind set as Christ Jesus.

The Christian Community is called to see itself as people of the cross going through difficulties and people of the empty tomb and people of hope.

President of the Methodist Church Rev. Dr. Tevita Bainivanua that Christ’s ultimate sacrifice on the cross was a sign the lengths that God would go through.

Bainivanua says even though the disciples did not really believe and trust in Him, He continued to rally them together with the power of His love.

Catholic Church Head Archbishop Peter Loy Chong says Easter celebrated the most important event of the Christian tradition, namely the life, death and resurrection of Christ.

Easter is celebrated by many around the country and businesses have even offered special sales to mark the religious event.
