Repair works at Nagado Treatment Plant to be completed by tomorrow - WAF

Water Authority of Fiji Board Director Kamal Gounder says they are on schedule and expect the repair works to the leaking Vanessa Valve at the Nagado Treatment Plant to be completed by 8am tomorrow.

He adds that once repair works are complete, reservoirs will be refilled and this will take around two to three days to fully restore the system.    

Gounder has highlighted that reports have surfaced regarding the damaging of some water tanks by the public that were placed in strategic locations in the affected areas.

The areas reported are in Waiyavi in Lautoka, Bulileka, Kaunitoni and the junction of Sukunivalu.          

Gounder says they have reported the matter to Fiji Police Force and are working closely with the Fiji Police Force in monitoring the situation.
