RFNS Kula which has served Fiji for the last 25 years has been decommissioned.

RFNS Kula will be sent to Australia next month to be scrapped and will be replaced by a larger and more capable Guardian Class Patrol boat RFNS Savenaca.

RFMF Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto who was part of the commissioning crew of RFNS Kula in 1994 officiated in the ceremony.

He spoke about RFNS Kula’s daring first rescue in 1994 and stressed Kula's motto of "Semper Primus" or Always First.
