NDMO to conduct tsunami drill today in collaboration with 7 agencies along Nasese
Tsunami drills conducted this year along Queen Elizabeth Drive, Nasese

The National Disaster Management Office in collaboration with seven agencies along the Nasese corridor will be having a tsunami drill today.

The NDMO will be looking at their response time which is estimated at 20 minutes for everyone to be evacuated at the assembly point at the Berkley Crescent RFMF Strategic Headquarters.

About 2,000 people are expected to participate in this drill including the Office of the President, Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs, iTaukei Trust Fund Board, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Police Academy and the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.

The National Disaster Management Office advises members of the Public living along the vicinity not to be alarmed and that these agencies will be temporarily closed from 11am‑2pm today.

It adds that the Queen Elizabeth drive from Bowling Club to the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service office will also be temporarily closed during this time.
