The restoration of water supply after the completion of repair works at the Nagado Treatment Plant has been affected by three major pipe bursts leaving thousands of residents in Nadi without water this morning.
The Water Authority of Fiji has confirmed that works on these pipe bursts have been completed and water supply should normalise by tomorrow.
It says areas that are located at the end of reticulation system and some isolated higher elevated areas will still experience low water pressures till tomorrow.
Areas affected include Nagado, Nadele, Holika, Votualevu, Taci, Togomasi, Togo Lavusa, Solovi, Meiganiyah and Malolo to Fiji Marriot Momi Bay Resort.
Residents of Navo in Nadi say water supply did not normalise as expected in their area at 5pm yesterday.
The Water Authority of Fiji stresses that this disruption is not related to the shutdown that happened over the weekend but is a result of major pipe burst that has happened due to aging infrastructure.
